Deck Description

My take of a red deck beatdown that can kill early but can stabilize well enough to win midgame when playing against control as well.
How the cards work:
Shrine of burning rage: A good card all by itself, the longer it stays on the table, the harder it hits.
furnace scamp: a good 1 drop with a potential to deal 4 damage. with hero of oxid ridge in play, i have an even higher chance of getting through those aggro creature that attemps to block it. has good synergy with brimstone volley as well.
chandra's phoenix: you kill my phoenix, i cast a burn spell on you, and my phoenix flies back to my hand. =)
grim lavamancer: it's like casting shock over and over again with this in play.. provided i have cards in my graveyard.. i put only 2 of these as they are not as effective as they used to be when the fetch lands are around..
Stromkirk noble: one of the best cards in this deck.. as it gets pumped up, it's almost unbeatable. good against humans or white weenies as well.
arc trail: i can take out 2 creatures with 2 mana.. need i say more?
brimstone volley: you kill my creature, i deal 5 damage to you.. or i sac furnace scamp, deal 3,cast this and deal another 5.

Deck discussion for RDW (Standard Innistrad)

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of the Copperline Gorges

it's for the flashback cost of the copperline gorges that are in my SB.. i chose copperline gorge rather than rootbound crag because it does not stop me from casting a one drop in the first turn even if i were to draw it.. during the late game, it won't really matter at all as most of my spells and creatures cost 3 or less to play with the exception of koth and hero.22

Dual lands are for the Ancient Grudge's flashback cost in the sideboard. Looks exactly like Tompkins mono red from StarCity tournament.

It does look similar, but that's because most RDWs run almost the same staple cards.. he's not playing koth though..

I do agree with that, cross Tompkin's deck and the deck that beat him for 1st, and you will have pretty much every RDW in standard atm.

yeap, i just went to see the first place deck by Doberne.. and it is similar.. i'm just hoping they'll release a red creature where we can pump the mana into in late game... spikeshot is good and so is lavamancer, but 1 more wouldn't hurt..
