Deck Description

I'm still trying to make my UR deck more competitive so have now ignored the budget restriction of my last attempt and am just using all strong UR cards I have on hand.

It now has more control and feels more like the typical UW delver deck, which I was trying to avoid

Any advice to help with consistency would be fantastic

Deck discussion for Red Blue Delver

you should check out calcano's grad prix winning ur delver he runs 4 delvers 1 dungeon gesit 2 stalkers 4 snapcasters and 1 phantasmal image 2 bonfire 1 devils play 1 galvanic blast 4 gitasxian probe 1 incinerate 3 pillar of flame 4 ponders 2 pikes 4 thought scours and 3 vapor snag. I like your list though i would definitly drop the ravings and put in probes go down to 1 or 2 devils play and 2 bonfires then add some more burn ( arc trail, pillar, incinerate etc.) drop the stromkirks for stalkers and drop the pheonix cuz your not running to much burn also check my latest legacy brew http://www.mtgvault.com/DrawSimulator.aspx?DeckID=343808

Thanks for the feedback. I'll definitely go check his deck out.
I was trying to avoid using invisible stalker to differentiate from a typical UW delver, but they are strong. I chose the phoenixes over the stalker as the stalker will hit for 1 on the 3rd turn where the phoenix will hit for 2 and I use to play chandra so I could get them back. Replacing the stromkirks for stalkers makes a lot of sense as I usually try play ponder on the first turn.
I chose the desperate ravings to try and get some more cards mid-game and potentially more instants/sorceries in the graveyard for the pike.
Would the Vexing Devil be a good stromkirk replacement? It's going to hit for 4 when played by either removing blockers, with snag and burn, or by an opponent choosing to take the 4. Not bad for R.

i personaly would replace stromkirk for more burn (because your running pheonix and dont have much burn as it is), or phantasmal images or bonfires maybe arc trails or gitaxian probes. Vexing devil looks really good on paper but unfortunatly does not do that good in games. (except for if your on the play on turn ). THe only reason is because your oponent makes the decison so it hardly does what you want it to do UNLESS you are playing full out aggro where you try to win by turn 5 which you are not. because turn 1 on the play is essentially the ONLY time where the card does what you want it to do.

I didn't think about phantasmal images in the main but they will be fantastic. I've got 2 so I'll drop those in the place of the nobles. I like gitaxian probes to look at my opponents hand but the arc trail gives a bit more control and that little bit more burn. I'll try out both and see how they work out for me.
Thanks a lot for the feedback and it's great to know about the issues with the Vexing Devil
