This is the deck I won for the first time at an FNM. The inspiration was UW Flash but instead of going UWR for the burn I wanted more consistent creature removal that comes with black. The local meta is very aggressive which this deck was built to punish.
The drownyards are not the win condition in this deck, Restoration angel and Snapcaster are. With how fast these decks want to be having that eventual grind helps win but typically you'll have an angel stick and punch through enough.Don't be afraid to take too much early damage from your lands or your opponents if you've got removal to recover. Snapcaster is a great blocker and if you know you're playing against a control and have no plan to use him, drop him and start swinging. Those couple of hits first can help get you there and when he has had enough, orzhov charm him back to your hand.Issues tonight, none. In the final game I played Jund and he used slaughter games for revelation, got to ultimate liliana and landed a witchbane orb . The solution was to drownyard myself for about 30 cards to find the fuel I needed to get back in the game. The extort on blind obedience is not to be underestimated either. In the Jund matchup it did a lot of serious work, double extorting every spell cast brings the game back within reachSideboarding:Aggro:Bring in severs and verdictsOptions to take out are tragic slip (this wasn't good now I think about it), dissipate if they're hyper aggro, think twice as a turn hoping to do something is a waste and an angel. If token based aggro then bring in the curse and -orhzov charm as you're not going to want to 1-for-1 themJund:Bring in 2 blind obedience (this is for extorting as you'll have a grind) and 2 sever. Exiling the tokens off garruk is not to be ignored-tragic slip, orhzov charm, and last 2 is up to you. I sided out 1 azorius charm and 1 dimir charm. Dimir charm would have been useful against rakdos returnThe griselbrand + unburial rites package are against esper control. I don't want to play the Jace battle, I just want to get them dead.Rest of the sideboard is obvious. The blind obedience didn't come in against any of the aggro decks I played against but I'd bring them in vs haste aggro but I'd expect to spend removal first then hope to land these by turn 4 when hellrider, aristocrat and thundermaw appear.
