Deck Description

A slightly different take on the typical GW aggro deck, and a deck that could really take off depending on where the format starts heading. Some explanations for the cards/lack of cards:

The first thing a lot of you will notice is that there are no mana accelerators. None. Thats it. Not a mistake. Anyway, my reasoning behind this is that so many decks are running 1-mana removal spells (geistflame, for example), and trading an Arbor Elf for a card like Geistflame is a bad deal, and if you are relying on hitting your 3-drops on turn 2, this is going to cause all kinds of problems.

Also, there becomes the question of which is really better: turn 2 Smiter or Call of the Conclave? Clearly the Smiter is the more powerful creature, but which is more likely to survive to attack the next turn? The answer is the Centaur token, as most players get this thought in their head that a card like that "isn't worth" wasting removal, sometimes even if it gets equiped with a Rancor! (while the Smiter is going to take an Abrupt Decay/Dreadbore to the face 9/10 times against a player with one in their hand).

The other thing worth explaining is the choice of Thragtusk over Silverheart, although by this point I'm sure it's pretty clear: in a deck that would otherwise get crushed by board-wipes, Thragtusk is the one card that will still leave you with some kind of board presence, even against Terminus. Silverheart wouldn't have been a terrible option, as he doesn't die too easily to Mizzium Mortars/Bonfire, but with the popularity of Terminus/Supreme Verdict, I wasn't taking the chance.

Please leave comments letting me know what you think/suggestions as far as how to improve the deck! (just remember, this is meant to be a deck that is very strong against removal, if you want to see a more typical GW aggro deck, check my page as that will be the deck I actually run at FNM's n whatnot)

Deck discussion for GW Anti-Removal Aggro

Nice conception!.. Sure is competative...

The sideboards R expecially great!..

I think U should drop 1 Thrag & 1 Goliath to make space for 2 Armada Wurm...

Armada Wurm could definitely work as most spot removal doesn't properly deal with it + it is out of Mizzium Mortar range. That said, without any mana ramp I'm not sure how consistently I'll be able to cast it, but if I find in play testing that I end up with 6+ lands by the end of most games I will absolutely make that change. Thanks!
