Deck Description

Mill is a deck designed to out all of your opponents cards in his/her library into the graveyard. When you opponent would draw a card when there isn't one then they automatically lose the game. a very interesting and fun strategy that i thought i would give some attention to. below i will explain the cards i used and i why i used them.

Hedron Crab:
this little critter is the best miller in the deck. he comes out super easy at only 1cmc and he can mill you opponent dry rather quickly. too many times i have had the pleasure to play a crab turn one, then play a second crab turn two and drop misty rainforest after the crab. good stuff.

Jaces Archivist:
A very solid card for a deck in my opinion. the key with this guy is to know when to activate his ability. I find it best to burn through as much mill spells as possible before playing him. then ponder, find out what im in for, decide to shuffle, play the spell i get from ponder if its a cheap miller like tome scour, then go ahead and get a new hand. if he does serve his purpose with a nice refresh(while milling your opponent as well of course) then just have him block to save your life points. OR... save him for the game ending combination...

4x Misty Rainforest:
For edron crab. this land will act as though 2 lands were played in one turn and any amount of crabs on the field will result in a great mill deal for just one life.

Jace, Memory Adept:
A really nice step up from jace 1.0. All of Memory Adepts skills are good. his {+1} allows you to draw one and your opponent to mill one. his {0} mills your opponent for 10...awesome. and his Ultimate {-7} allows you and/or your opponent to draw 20 cards. Wait, drawing 20 still didn't mill your foe? good thing we still have jaces archivist then. pay a blue and make him draw 20 more. that should do it ;)

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage:
tamiyo is slowly working her way into almost every blue deck i build. she is just so freaking good in blue. in mill, her plus one keeps your opponents creatures at bay a little while longer so that you may work up to jaces ultimate or cast those last couple of spells. And HER ultimate will most likely end the game just as easliy as Jaces. go ahead and cast tome scour 5 times. or cast Visions of beyond until you get what you want. she fits in with mill quite snugly i think.

Increasing Confusion:
sometime games last a really long time with mill. Sometime you and you opponent are able to drag that game out for so long YOU are almost milled. trust me this happens. and when it does you are more than disappointed with you useless 15 lands on the field. increasing confusion puts whatever you have left to good use and it flashes back for double the bang. a great finisher and great fodder for Archivist. flashback guys. I'm telling you.

the rest of the spells are extremely self explanatory.

Thanks for reading!

Deck discussion for Mill

This is a very nice deck. You might want to take out a Thought Scour and add another Increasing Confusion. This is just an idea, but maybe you can add Terramorphic Expanses or Evolving Wilds to serve the same purpose as Misty Rainforest. I really like this deck a lot.

Universal MTG Tip: Don't use Terramorphic Expanse or Evolving Wilds in a single-color deck.
