Deck Description

A 70 card Blue/Black Standard Type 2 deck based on a 2012 core that I bought. My aim is for this to be effective and at the same time low cost. Sideboard is split into anti-monster, anti-magic & anti-flight. (There's 1 more Doom Blade in the sideboard, but somehow I can't seem to add it.)

This deck plays Blue for illusions. Since illusion doesn't take up all that much space in a deck, I added a few more blue and some black for playing with royal assassins which doesn't take much space either.

Finally, I added the empires because they seem to work well with both combo (crown tabs monsters for the assassins and throne creates monsters to be transformed into illusions by xenograft and be buffed up continuously).

This is the first time I'm building a deck so I'm expecting lots of flaws. Feel free to comment and make suggestions!

Deck discussion for Illusion of Death (2012 Standard Type 2)

This seems pretty solid, but there are a couple things I could suggest. First of all, this needs to come down to sixty cards instead of seventy. Easiest way to do this would be to take out the sphinx and demon. Those are far too expensive for this deck. I would also take out the kraken's eyes. Those don't do anything but take up extra space too, and this isn't a life gain deck. Frost Titan, while good, could also go. I really like the Alluring Siren, Royal Assassin combo you have going. Other than that, it looks pretty solid to me. I'm not a big fan of the Empires set, but I think it works in this deck. And the Diabolic Tutors work well to get your Xenografts out. Other than that, the only other problem I see is a lack of control. Which makes your illusions easy targets unless your Lord is out. But play with it some and see what you think! :)

Also, I just realized this, you don't have anywhere NEAR enough mana. Pump it up to about 20-23 for a 60 card deck.
