Hunted Phantasm/Troll => Avatar Of Might => Echoing Truth = -tokens & you're free to chop & stomp your opponent =) Also Essence Warden could definitely improve your survivability. The concept is great, it needs a good piece of work however.
P.S.: Sheltering Ancient is kinda... not perspective, IMHO =)

Np oh nd howling mine is a great idea. Kev W. uses them in combo wit underworld dreams and kills life with it. Only downside is u could eventually deck if the game goes on too long, but with this deck that shouldnt be a problem.

Use Feldon's Canes =) http://www.mtgvault.com/viewdeck.php?did=4569 Anyways, I still do believe Forced Fruition doesn't worth it after all. BR > BRU IMHO

Damnation?! why?

>>>Because. Because this deck's defence against decent creature-based deck is fairly poor. If an opponent plays a fast creature deck this deck will NEVER be able to survive til one of Forced Fruitions is out. Imagine... Turn 1 - Suntail Hawk. Turn 3 - Loxodon Warhammer. Turn 4 - BAM: 14 HP you, +4HP your opponent. And if the hawk is not the only one to pop up before turn 4? And you can NOTHING about it without creature-killing spells.

You can easily make them draw with Howling Mine. Trust me, Howling Mine on turn 2 is way easier and much more effective than Forced Fruition on turn 6 (if you are *lucky* enough to get 6 lands on turn 6). + You can have multiple Howling Mine which will help you play faster as well as keep your opponent's hand full for discard/draw-damage.

I think my variant is much more creature-protected. Your deck can easily defeated by 1 creature with flying (Ex.: Suntail Hawk with Loxodon Warhammer will be just enough).
I like Forced Fruition too, but it doesn't worth it, IMO. =)

Latest changes:
This is the last variant of the deck. Maindeck includes many anti-creature cards (putting in Liliana Vess is what you can do to make the deck even more effective against creature-based decks). While playing against red straight-to-head non-creature damage decks Dragon's Claw & Demon's Horn are what you need to strengthen your survivability. Afraid of seeing one of your precious cards extirpated? Put in Thoughtseize & Distress to extirpate your opponent's Extirpate! Good luck!

This is a type 1.x deck.
The sideboard's missing 3 cards which are :
2 Fiery Gambit
1 Fabricate
"Rough" is actually a split card called "Rough / Tumble": http://magiccards.info/query/48404.html

The main purposes of the deck are:
- to create the most favorable flipping conditions for you and the most embarrassing ones for your opponent;
- to make your turn practically unending;
- to achieve your goal by killing your opponent or by triggering Chance Encounter's victory condition.

Do you really think you can counter ALL spells with 3 counterspells and kill legions of fast-spawning creatures with 1 WoG? I've got 4 Damnations in my deck and I can replay em for up to two times each... This is how an anti-creature defense must be built... + What if one of your 3 precious counterspells (that doesn't even make the spell's controller put the spell into his graveryard... Cancel rules) gets extirpated? I would definitely rebuild the defense of this deck... And maybe smth else...

*But have you ever thought of gaining so much life that there is no way for the opponent to win and they have to scoop ( give up)...*

Some decks are able to deal 100-200 dmg in 1 turn (ex.: slivers, decks using Coat Of Arms)... There are others able to deal 52 dmg with 1 spell (ex.: Stuffy Doll+Furnace Of Rath+Shivan Meteor)... Are you sure you can "overheal" such dmg-load?

Lighting Helix is a must for this kind of deck... Also I really like the idea of Stuffy+Worship combo =)

1st of all: you don't need Terramorphics in monocolored decks...
Cryoclasm<Boiling Seas + Flashfires
I'm not sure about this "mountainwalk" thing in your SB... Don't think you need it. Your SB seems kinda raw to me...
You don't destroy artifacts? Not good... 1 artifact can own your deck...

I L-L-LIKE this one! But... Could you make it suitable at least for extended tournaments? Lotus Blooms and other mana-producing artifacts are not that few in Extended format... + I would add some control, cuz some spells/enchantments are able to ruin all the beauty of this idea in an eyewink.

Looks like my friend's variant is faster and not as dependant on echo/sacrificing as this one. You can check it out, if you want:

7/10 Looks like a decent discard-based deck. However the main principle seems not as elaborated as it could be... It might be conditioned by the colors: for example, my discard-based deck is BR and it looks more diversified and purposeful at the same time. Making your opponent discard 1 card at random is nice, but why not make him discard his entire hand? That was the logic I listened to. +Such a sympathy for Phyrexian Totem doesn't look pretty grounded=>other variants. Rate BRace Box please =)

Swarmyard added due to the previous modification in order to compensate the Barber's low toughness and to make it more enduring & useful.

Thx for the observation, Persecute (2) has been replaced with Barbed Shocker (2).

<pclark83>: maybe splash blue for copy enchantment

Don't really think it is needed that badly here. 3-4 copies of each combo-involved enchantment are just enough IMO. Anyways, thanx for this variant =)
