A T2 mono green deck that's all about insane amounts of mana real quick. I mean, a Wolfbriar that's been kicked 3 times on turn three? 7 7/7s on turn 5? Hardcasting an Emrakul by Turn 6? Who WOULDN'T love that stuff!? So yeah, comments will be loved, on this or any of my other decks. :)

booooooooring! to simple, think outside the box. what else could fast mana gain be used for, what could be done in a deck full of monsters who make mana to the point you dont need lands? surprise me!

Somtimes simple is more effective than the "wow factor" you see in most decks these days.
Yeah, I have ideas for all that, but right now I'm focusing more on T2 decks. I checked all the green cards (lol, green cards, arizona...) that are standard and here's what I came up with. Although I didnt check colorless, hmmmm.....
I really like the setup of this deck, major mana gain for sure. The problem i'm seeing is that there are no standalone cards that really make the deck stand out. A few good hard hitters like Emarakul, the Aeons Torn or other Eldrazi and you could have yourself a VERY potent mixture. A few Planeswalkers wouldn't hurt either, especially ones that help with your elves hmmm
Yeah, I wanted to add some eldrazi, but I didn't know exactly what to take out. Maybe a wolfbriar and protean?
Definitly add one or two Eldrazi, but I suggest playtesting to see what can be taken out for them (even if you have to proxy them).
Added 2 Emrakuls, as a decisive game ender. The vines of vastwood were never that useful, as the creatures they were protecting were usually the mana generators once I already had enough to start dominating. Winnowed that down to 2, as the kicker is still very useful. :)
One big flaw though is you have zero defense I just noticed. Maybe consider adding some white cards to help defend would improve your gameplay.
I'd rather not add another color, it adds the complications of trying to have not only enough mana but the right kind too. This deck has no problem in the amount of mana, but that efficiency drops significantly if I try to make a color other than green. But, point taken, some defense would be helpful. Not sure how to handle that exactly except Vines of Vastwood. Any ideas?
Fog and Tanglesap
Added a playset of fog, to let me last long enough to use the mana I generate, especially versus mono red decks. Killed me, but I had to take out 2 Wolfbriars and 2 Mul Daya Channelers. They have amazing potential if you ask me, but I never seem to get them at the right time.
I have the same problem with the Fogs, that's why I normally add a 2nd fog type card to icrease the chance of getting them.
I'm liking this deck. It uses (and can abuse) what I like about green (a little tweeking needed though).
Thank you. Trying to get the cards to run it at FNM soon. :)
Using multiple colors doesnt necessarily stress the deck or drop efficiency, that only happens when the right synergy of mana production isn't present. There are plenty of green creatures out there that can generate off colors, and many of them are elves and some are in T2. The Feral Hydra may be a nice addition, seeing as how he can be pumped even after he has been put into play, and trample action would always be nicely added to any green deck, i.e overrun (or garruk since plainswalkers are always amazing power cards / shields). Keep at it, all decks have their chance at being competition level =)
I realize this. There's Druid of the Anima, knotvine mystic I believe, Birds of paradise, Noble Hierarch. The main problem I have though is that these cards either aren't dynamic enough for my liking or are too expensive. Example: Llanowar Elf; 1:1 mana ratio, can play on turn 1 / Knotvine Mystic; 3:1 mana ratio, can play on turn three / Druid of the anima; 1:2 mana ratio, can play on turn two. The other problem is that I'm lazy and don't feel like researching, finding, and synergizing another color into this deck. :P
I might be eating these words very soon actualy, I just remembered the card Apocalypse Hydra..... O_O
no Omnath, Locus of Mana?
Omnath would be usefull as another powerhouse creature
This deck runs fine without Omnath. I have 3 main problems about him. 1) This deck already has a nice balance between big beffy guys and large hordes. I don't wanna end up ruining that. 2) I personally don't like the idea of tapping for mana every turn to keep him strong. If I'm tapping every turn, he better be getting stronger and stronger. 3) I'm a broke college student, and adding him would really be adding to the cost of this deck, which as of right now is already too high. I had to tweak it IRL, replacing Garruk with Overruns, Emrakuls with Pathrazer, and the Protean Hydra with another Wolfbriar and Gelatinous. Don't feel like spending more on something that will makeit only a little better.
Okay, this deck runs great now, thanks for all the amazing comments guys. Now, I'd like to add a side-board. I wanna add some windstorms and naturalizes, but beyond that I'm kinda lost. Ideas?
Try crawlspace for defense? Only allows opponents to attack with 2 creatures on their turn. Cheap and easy =)
Sorry, but I want this deck to be a T2 deck. Good advice otherwise though. :)
I can't help but notice that with all these elves you're still missing Joraga War-Caller...
Good idea, but this is more of a personal thing. I already have an elf deck on magic online, having 2 just seems redundant.
