This deck relies on the Geist-Honored Monk and the Crusaders of Odric for its main hitters, supported by an array of tokens to build up their power and toughness, provided by Thraben Doomsayer and Gather the Townsfolk. Fliers such as Seraph of Dawn and Guardian of the Gateless can provide powerful defence as well. Its cheap price means it can maintain a high tempo. Bladed Bracers can help attackers better synergise with Builder's Blessing.
Build an early line of defence consisting of cards such as Master Decoy and Thraben Doomsayer, using their abilities to prevent attacks (preferably without losing the creatures themselves) through using 1/1 Humans as blockers, or tapping a threat before it attacks. Gather the Townsfolk can provide a swarm of 1/1 Human tokens as well.In order to better organise a defence you can combine Builder's Blessing with your blockers, earning them (including your tokens) +0/+2, and Honor of the Pure for +1/+1. Seraphs of Dawn and Guardians of the Gateless can provide good flying blockers as well as a potential source of offensive ability. With enough tokens in play you can use your Crusaders of Odric, Geist-Honored Monk and Odric, Master Tactician to penetrate enemy defences with a high attack potential. With Odric, you can effectively control the opponent's defence, either destroying it through preferential blocking or ignoring it outright. You can combine your Bladed Bracers with virtually any card to earn Vigilance, and thus keep the benefits of Builder's Blessing while also allowing it to block. A 6/6 Crusader of Odric is good for attack, but a 6/8 is more survivable. In contrast, a 3/5 Flying/Lifelink/Vigilance (Seraph of Dawn with Bladed Bracers) is better than a 2/4 Flying/Lifelink (Seraph of Dawn).Use cards such as Avenging Arrow, Divine Verdict and Pacifism to take out threatening creatures in the long term. Razor Barrier can offer excellent defence or offence alike, as it can help penetrate the defences of an enemy, prevent a critical spell from targeting your main creature, or even remove pesky enchantments such as Pacifism if you are targeted. If your life runs low, not all is lost. Each Thraben Doomsayer provides a cumulative +2/+2 to all creatures you control if you have 5 life or less, and Gather the Townsfolk provides five instead of two tokens at the same life limit. It is theoretically possible to be controlling 6/8 tokens to block with during such a stage, while also boosting your ability to counter-attack - just watch out for those burns!
