http://www.mtgvault.com/viewdeck.php?did=12076 heres an example of a straight forward grenade deck I'm really like goblin grenade but fork is such an expensive card that i haven't been able to build the deck.
yea if you were to play in a constructed tournament then yes 60 would be the minimum but if you were to play in a sealed or booster draft then the minimum would be 40 and since it doesn't look like you were constructing the deck for tournaments since you could only play in vintage since you have the recruiter in there I figured it was for casual friends playing... It all depends on how your group of players play.
if you are going to use goblin grenade and fork you might want to consider using raging goblins or im kinda partial to mudbutton torchrunner because you can do some extra damage.. i have a goblin grenade deck and i think it works well at only 40 cards that way you have a greater chance of drawing it. All around though i think this is a solid deck
that is a long game unless im missing something... if i played that deck id probably forfeit just to avoid the eventual mill
why not have underworld dreams in there for the fact that some of your cards make an opponent draw cards. I can understand if you were just going for strickly discarding. I just think that the megrim/underworld dreams synergy is nice
barbed sextant isn't going to give you any extra mana because it costs one to produce one of any color
you don't have dark rituals in the deck
am i getting it right that the object of your deck is to get wild pair out as soon as possible then bounce some grinning ignus back and forth for mana then throw out a dragonstorm for the win? with wild pair costing 6 mana how fast are you able to achieve the win and are you able to hold your opponent at bay long enough with the land destructions?
sorry i just realized you had crystal quarry in there
i would add some grim poppets and put in all colors of mana just because of the fact that reaper king is cheaper with all colors than colorless mana. i know you have Mycosynth Golem in the deck for affinity but just in case you want to pop reaper king first. otherwise you could put in urza lands to produce more colorless mana
the Lhurgoyf creatures seem like they would be pretty cool in this deck since there power would get larger as your opponents graveyard got bigger i think mortivore would be a cool card that ones power gets bigger as creatures in graveyard increase
i dont like the lash outs in the deck because you dont have a huge chance of beating someone out on a clash since so many of your cards are 1 mana costing
I really like this deck but i think you should have more than 2 dorans in it also i dont see a real need to have llanowar dead in the deck since you have urbrog elf and quirion elves in the deck. my main concern would be that you wouldnt be able to get doran or the white mana needed to summon him.
I think it would be a little mana heavy. 34 mana seems like a little much for me. i might cut it down to 4 of each type instead of 6 and throw in 10 more cards.
i really like this idea. its nice you have both counters and some cards that drop in 1/1 creatures if need be. the only thing i was going to say is add something that helps you find proteus staff faster but i see that you have fabricate in there which will do the trick
mindless autonomaton is a really cool card for a discard deck
no coat of arms?
you have 8 swarm of rats in the deck... id put more relentless rats into your deck since you can have any number of those in your deck
add some 4 vault of whispers and 4 great furnaces instead of 4 swamps and 4 mountains. that way you can get more artifacts in play for your affinity for artifacts. and if necessary you can sacrafice them
