Deck Description

I always get really bummed out when I see vampire decks. Cards like Olivia are very discouraging to those hoping to build a standard deck for under $100.

I have tried to make this deck about 3 times and I always give up. This time though, splashing in red really helped. Issue it created is that now I need to hope to get both colors. Wouldn't be too bad if I could find some dual lands for the right price, but they are always so expensive.

I am not a pro when it comes to vampires but I think this turned out pretty alright. If I am missing anything awesome feel free to let me know but please remember the budget.

What do you recommend from your deck? Sadly I don't see too much I can afford.

For dual lands, look into the refuge cycle. You can usually get them for $0.25 - $0.50 a piece. They enter tapped, but you do gain a life which is a small bonus. There's also the gates from Ravnica which are even cheaper although they also enter tapped.

I would maybe drop Feast of Blood down to 2 copies and substitute with Murder, Doom Blade, or Ultimate Price. I find that when playing against aggressive decks, I sometimes have FoB in hand, but less than 2 vampires rendering and unable to remove threats.

I also like Vampire Lacerator because it's a cheapie 2/2 for a single black mana. Downside is that you lose life during upkeep, but it can help you shave off some lives early on against slower decks.

I think sideboarding or mainboarding pulse tracker could help, and if you don't care about the format of the deck, tainted peak is a nice, cheap dual land. Vampiric Fury could do well in this deck as well.
