Well basically I need to impose a question and I need it anwered in order for this deck to work. Mana Severance targets the player casting it so is it possible to use swerve to change the target?

Your idea does not work with Swerve and Mana Severance. Mana Severance says You, not Target Player.

That is all i wanted to know anyway since it is not effective I'll just use the other combos to stall the opponent.
There was no need to give me the thumbs down it was just a question.
Its not over the question, its over the idea of what the deck does. If someone has a question, I do not leave a negative over that. I leave a negative because I feel that I do not see the deck being good in competitive play. You do have some combos in here that I can help you with, thats for sure. Really good ones.
i like how riley is so ready to hand out -1 ratings because he thinks he is a god at mtg but most of his decks are pretty average. ANON although i must (regrettably) agree with riley and (likely fictitional)holly the combo doesn't work but +1 anyway because it was a nice try.
Riley since you want a combo there are actually two in the deck if you bothered to read the cards. The first one is Mana severance and Goblin Charbelcher = infinite damage The second is Painter's Servant and Mana Maze = total control
Thanks Dreki it was a nice attempt and if it worked they would have banned me or the cards from magic for sure.
I said there were combos in the deck, but they arent refined to a point that the deck focuses on them. It just makes sense to go ahead and focus on one combo, instead of another. Trust me on that much, have you heard of Painter's Servant and Grindstone? it mills an entire deck, and in total costs on 3 Mana to Cast the Servant and Stone while only costing alittle more to activate. I just want to see the deck develop further is all.
ANON im sorry to say but there is another flaw with your combo goblin charbelcher only does damage when you reveal a land so you would have to keep atleast 1 land in for it to have effect and although those are good odds at revealing alot of non-land it wont be infinite damage
One of the rules says that if there is a impossible action on a card, it is ignored, so the combo does work.
woops somehow i sent the message twice
Either Way, playing Blue Red allows you to use Red Elemental Blast or the other functional reprint of it to destroy any permanent on the board aslong as you choose Blue with Painter's Servant. Mind you, those things only cost 1 Red to cast. You could effectively win turn 1 by casting Mana Vault, using the Vaults Mana to play Grindstone and play your Painter's Servant. If you went the Charbelcher route, the entire deck would change up to a 2 Land deck thats pretty crazy aswell.
I try to make decks that are original so as to show everyone that there is no limit when it comes to playing Magic. I knew of the Charblechers one land problem but the combo always works I even managed to get the land at the bottom dealing a total of 60 damage.
there isnt a problem with the goblin charbelcher combo. You just deal the damage because the rules say that you can ignore any impossible steps.
If only it was a mountain... 120 damage would be pretty sweet overkill in most cases
wo wo wo, now gents lets keep it cool, im with anon on this one, i hat when people copy deck ideas just cause they r good ones, the painters servant grindstone combo is quite well known and rightly so as it is amazing, but there have to be other uses for the cards and anon has found one, good job
So, just a thought. Even though swerve may not have worked, does the same hold true for Reverberate?
