Deck Description

My own take on the standard (modern) deck mono u-tron. It's a control deck that wants to control the board until it gets the urza lands in play and win with high mana threaths.

p.s. I am really looking for feedback on this deck. I'm not so much interested in naming a few expensive cards, but more in balancing issues. Thnx!

How to Play

Counter, bounce and do anything to survive long enough to get the urza lands on board (with some help of expedition map). Then make sure you get control of the board so you can finish the opponent off. Has answers to almost anything, especially after sideboarding. Can be a bit too slow for fast aggro decks.

Deck discussion for Mono U-tron

Walking Ballista makes a good 1-off in here. I tend to use it in mine instead of Staff of Nin.

Yeah that one is pretty high on the list, the fact that it's 10 bucks or so and I don't get to play as much nowadays kept me from getting it. Can you expand a little what it would bring, particularly against what matchups does it pay off?

It's good against smaller creatures, plus acts as a mana sink with its counter-gaining ability. This allows it to fulfill its primary role as awesome, elimination-dodging win condition. And you can buy it back with both Academy Ruins and Buried Ruin if need be.

Sadly, I don't have the time to press the DSH button 50 times to give you a decent critique, so this will have to do:
4 Treasure Mage and low threat density is a very interesting take, one I think I like a lot, though, do you think it a possible issue that there might be a relatively decent number of games in which it makes you more disruptable than you otherwise might be (you tutor, can't play it, get thoughtsiezed)?

Why no walking ballista?

Why no snapcaster? Or the 5/6 snapcaster? (God I am ashamed I forgot the name)

That's as much as 8 minutes allowed me to spit out.

Walking ballista is definitely a good option, same question for you can you expand a little what it would bring, particularly against what matchups it pays off best?

For the snapcaster it's easy $$$ though I do really love that card,it would fit in about half my current decks :)

I'm not rly sure Torrential Gearhulk is worth it though. I'll think about that one though, thnx.

The main argument for Ballista is that it was designed as a highly flexible card, the flexibility being paid for by the price. Tron does not care about the price, so in a deck like this you are left with a card that is a win condition, combo disruptor (COCO, Kiki, Pili-Pala), planeswalker killer and a removal spell.
