Some friends and I play commander regularly, we each have our own "style" of deck. It's a pretty balanced playgroup but we wanted to shake things up a bit. So the four of us each spent time thinking about things each of the others DOESN'T tend to do in a deck, then picked out an assortment of commanders that would encourage them to get outside of their usual play space. From my list, this is what I've first decided to give a try. I'm usually not about being subtle, I like big immediate effects. This deck doesn't do that, it curbs that sort of behavior while gradually taking you apart with small evasive creatures.SB cards are considerations. I'm thinking of moving in a good handful of protection/counters, and removal to replace some of the cards that don't run the engine.
Tap, untap, discard, get more power, repeat.'More specificallyPsychic Puppetry can be played twice by first splicing it into Toils of Night and Day, allowing you Tap or untap 3 targets, then later another 1.Madness cards cab be discarded with the Inspired Trigger off Disciple of Deciet, and played at the same time you're replaced with some combo-piece, removal, or beater. We've also got Ravens Crime and Oona's Grace for this purpose, they can be discarded without losing any value, as late game (when they mean more) we can just discard land to get them back, and with this draw engine it won't be an issue to get more land. There's a bunch of delve to take advantage of all this discard, and cheap cards with draw, just be careful not to eat your beaters because we've also got some solid ways to regrow them in Grave Scrabbler, Call to the Netherworld, and Disturbing Plot. Even Vessel of Endless Rest can regrow just about whatever we might need.
