Deck discussion for Izzet Master

I hate you, I hate you're deck, you're an evil human being..... Having said that, nice deck..... (Yes I was recently butthurt by this same kind of deck, it is very potent. The killer is Artful dodge....)

There are way too many spells for any opponent to deal with, trust me. I know firsthand. The Cyclops / Guttersnipe combo is the worst. Another great combo someone showed me was Soulbinding Nightshade Peddler and Izzet Staticaster.

ive done that peddler staticaster combo with a RUG version of this deck but being a tricolor always end up mana screwing for me. this build is better and more flexible for me to play

If you add dual casting you can make a great combo when you enchant it to blistercoil weird. Since everytime you cast a spell it gets +1 and you untap it, meaning you can copy the spell again n again for 1 red mana each time. 5 red mana would mean 1 pillar of flame and 4 copies of it. If you happend to have guttersnipe out that would be 20 damage.

No it wouldn't because you are not casting the spell, you are copying it. Read the card. Guttersnipe would do 2 damage initially, but then all the copies wouldn't count.

You are probably right, I thought maybe you were 'casting' a copy of the spell. Although I do wanna check out the ruling just to be sure, it would be AMAZING if it did work out that way.

EVEN SO there's nothing to complain about when attaching dual casting to blistercoil and copying a burn spell FIVE TIMES lol

5/1/2012: The copy is created on the stack, so it's not "cast." Abilities that trigger when a player casts a spell won't trigger. The copy will then resolve like a normal spell, after players get a chance to cast spells and activate abilities.

Well at least you found out here before making a deck based totally around that tactic.... And then finding out in the middle of a game.... It is an interesting idea though....

guttersnipe's ability won't trigger for dual casting because it ain't casted it's a copy only. however, cipher spells do trigger guttersnipe's ability always and that's cool!
