Deck Description

The basic idea with this one is Gain life Gain life ---> Serra Ascendant, win. Lots of one drops, draw, gain life. The star of the show is def: Martyr of Sands. Nobody gains more life for less than Martyr of Sands, generally you can get a functioning Serra Ascendant on T2 with Martyr.

-Proclamation of Rebirth and Emeria the Sky Ruin help to keep your Serra Ascendant's, and Martyr of Sand's up.
-Ranger of Eos to search for your Serra Ascendants.
-Goldenglow moth was picked for being a 1 drop, with flying. In a pinch it's nice to Swords to Plowshares.
-Felidar Sovereign is a great sideboard choice Vs. certain decks.
-Awe Strike/Blessed reversal is a must Vs. Certain decks too.

Deck discussion for Serra Ascendant Life Gainer

in this deck I would put in divinty of pride and transcendant master and exchange elspeth tirel with the other elspeth because you really would like to keep your creature if you want to gain life or add them together

I think I like the current versio a bit more, thanks though! The hope is not to need those larger creatures, and I don't really care if my creature's die. With Tirel, she puts out 3 soldiers, which is 1 life per soldier per Soul Warden or Soul's Attendant

Hey, I'm not sure that it's needed, it's 6 mana...

True. I've just seen life-gaining decks get well above a thousand life with that card haha.

Sorry that I'm just getting back to you! I haven't really checked my comments recently. Looking at the deck, I really like it, and found a few cards I'll be adding for myself! My only concern is the issue I had in my deck, and that's control. I'd add between two and four Journey to Nowhere or Path to Exile's just for the control factor. Made my deck significantly better. As you said earlier to Cardwrestling0909, Beacon of Immortality is very nice, but the cost is rather high, so it's only truly useful midgame. Something I'd consider though is Boon Reflection. "If you would gain life, you gain double that amount instead." or something along those lines. And also reffering back up to CardWrestling, I've had my deck up to over 4 million lief without it, simply with the help of Celestial Mantle.

Another card that I'm very partial to, for no real reason, is Lone Missionary. 2 drop, 2/1, you gain 4 life.
A card to consider that has made my deck awesome is Rest for the Weary. Comboing with Boon Reflection, 8-16 life per turn, it's awesome.

Boon reflection sounds pretty promising, but it's also pretty high mana cost. Regarding Lone Missionary, it was in the original deck, but it's not a 1 drop which isn't the best for proclamation or rebirth, so I went with goldenglow moth instead, as it also helps Vs flying. In terms of removal, ya might not have noticed, but the deck's running 4x day of judgment and 4x swords to plowshares, which serves as pretty tight creature removal. I've sideboarded a few oblivion rings against certain decks. I've also sideboarded some awe strikes

it may not be necessary but ajanis pridemate would be a killer in this

Oh yeah, if Ajanis Pridemate was 1 mana, it'd be in there for sure, as it is it's not Proclamation of rebirth-able so it's not as ideal. I did go through this with a friend and decided to pop in some Ranger of Eos and sideboard the Feldicar for when it's needed.

Boon reflection is an excellent choice to put in this deck, maybe put two in for a day of judgement and a plains.

O and check out my life steal deck, When Walls Attack. :P

Soul's Attendent maybe? I would also try out Ajani's Pridemage, maybe for Goldenglow and DoJ?

Oh yeah, the first variation of this deck had both versions of soul's attendant, then the 2nd variation had only 4. Since then I've adjusted them out of the deck, same with ajani's pridemate. The current cards, give or take some sideboard adjustments, seems to be running better without them. Here's the reason: Ajani's Pridemate is CmC 2, which mean's I can't proclamation of rebirth for it. I could switch Wall of Omen's out for the Pridemate, however, the additional card draw in this deck was needed against most aggressive decks, so I've found Wall of Omen's to be better in this spot than the Pridemate. Soul's attendant just didn't seem to pack as much punch as goldenglow moth or Martyr of Sands. Nothing packs as much punch as Martyr of Sands, it's nuts.
