Thank you for telling me
I find companions to be a very fresh initiative in magic from a desigpoint.I'm unlikely to be one that uses them, as I prefer to have a full range of cards selection when building decks.Using this card effectively halves your selection pool, which is a hefty price. The most interesting thing is how it also messes with manacurves. The more people uses companions the more it will affect the mana of decks, blurring guidelines forevermore. The fun thing about that, is that that's actually old news. This has been ongoing for years, and people still follow the old rules like 1/3 lands. Do you see how complete the illusion is?Companions will also lead to the largest tag ever in mtgvaults history, and in a weak attempt to counter it, I've started tagging my own decks as companion less but it creates the same problem.Congrats on being the first to adopt the companion tag though, that's forerunner material ;)
Well after some tests this deck works best with 20 lands, and putting yorion on a battle of wits deck might just change the sideboard
Thank you, but your right it does restrict which cards you can use, so in untap the only companions I've seen is Lurrus, Zirda, and Yorion
The key to battle of wits + yorion is to figure out how many cards will be in your deck when battle hits play. Also I don't think there will be a problem with stating that your deck is for example a 198 card deck with 20 cards added by yorion.
