Deck discussion for 3 Land belcher

Try out Leyline of abundance or leyline of vitality.
Also study elfcombo decks and try to integrate infinite mana as a second option.
Some of the newer untargetable mana generators that brings you any color might also be usefull.

You are right, but I haven't cared about updating and I will soon

Yeah, I've had a lax period too this week, but is back at testing my ld-mill. So far it's wonderfull against all controlled and combo, but loses to aggro and emrakul. That translate into a few cards dealing with untargetables, like consume flesh. I'm running the gauntlet (about 30 outdated testdecks) but so far it's just aggro and emrakul that needs to be addressed.

What type of emrakul deck ramp or cheat?

Several.
Tron traditionally used emrakul against mill, and is probably still holding mill-decks back by the popularity of tron.
I also test against rw prison with planeswalkers (nahiri and that white one) and bloodmoon, and then there is ru with that red card costing 5 which throws emrakul on the board with haste.

Three different strategies in all.

I didn't think of control Emrakul, also what format are you playing in I might be able to help

Modern. I got 30 old decks that aren't completely alien to the current meta. If anything they have more power from banned cards.

It's the top deck on page three of my "site".
Geomancer's mill gambit.
Tagged ld-mill

I've compiled a lot of valuable picks in the sideboard that will be tested against my test panel.

Modern is actually crawling forward at a slow pace, so I'd only need info on the newest builds based on new cards.
Past decks are sort of covered by being very typical.

Interesting, but how does spreading seas help your deck?

It locks down the lands that the ld normally would, stall the mana base long enough for another ld to arrive and draws a replacement card for it's own effect, which keeps the steam up.

How on earth did you get past rdw, which destroys your mana elves ?
Am I missing something?

I have been thinking of simian spiritguide to kickstart the red half of the deck.

It's simple since most of their creatures had haste I played mass hysteria, and got out a lot of elves quicker then they could destroy it, and as a backup there was rituals, but in the end I won 2/3 games, and the ones I did I just barely got away with winning, at around 2-5 life

Ah, makes sense to play the deck carefully rather than reckless. And you will frequently get a chancellor mana and a land.

How often did you activate leyline of abundance second ability ?
Did abundance improve your self output ?

Next time you might want to try out the lifegain stormcard.
I can also sell you the idea of adding a single edge of autumn to the deck, but only one. It's my suggestion to all combo, but ironically doesn't work in my glimpse deck.

I'm getting interested in the deck:)

I could spend some days running it through my paperstrip method, just to see what evolution would do with this.
Give me a small list of cards you really wanted to add to the deck but had to give up on during your building it.

At what turn did you combo most often and what's your goal turn.

If you can get to a decklist similar to the one that defeated you I can use it to train the deck on it.

Do you remember which decktypes that brought you down to 2-5 life?
Training against those will be sweet to do.

Give me as many details as possible, if theres any of the cards you want to play that you only have 1 of. Do you have any cards you might want to invest in, but are unsure about.

I could also walk you through how to do it on yourself, but it would mean a lot of work on your side.

I got it to a turn 1 win with irencrag feat, infernal plunge,2 chancellor of the tangles, any 1 drop creature, and goblin charbelcher. I believe this is the last deck since dragonstorm to be able to claim that title or am I wrong?

It's a matter of odds. If you have a 60 card deck and draw 30 cards there's a 50 percent chance you encounter the land in the 2nd half. Add another land and there are 4 different ways it can play out where 25%of the time you find the card at the front part of the deck, with a 1 out of 25 chance of it being in location 2 through 25, but there is 75% chances of it being after the 25 first cards.
Adding a third card makes it into 8 different scenarios to advanced for me to go into, but there are som odds for the card to be between the 12.5 first cards but since you draw 7 chances are you get it into your hand and then statistically there should be a number of 12.5 cards before the next land?

Or is it three scenarios of 20 cards each?

I don't know, but the odds are in your favor at some rate :)

Does anyone know the odds involved in this ?

I do, the only reason I can get away with bringing trash like mono red aggro vs rakdos aggro and win is because I‘m great at statistics

Statistics is all, about going in reverse, since this deck aims for a turn 3 trigger let’s say that we draw 9 cards and 10 cards and see the likelihood of each scenario, but later as O don’t have the time

I copied a 5c human from zoson and made it mill resistant.
If you know your deck can beat humans, then have human players use this build to fight mill.
I've focussed the deck on what made it hardest to beat with mill without changing to much of it.

Oh, and the down vote troll is targeting me for the first time I've been aware of.
I link it to the days of my nfo upstart.
Since then I've gained a second member and the troll might be threatened by it :)
Theres also an upsurge in old deck revivals again, and usually about 10 decks in a row.
At least the time the troll spends on the net, he can't be a bother to the humanity outside his front door ;)

David ernenwein on modern nexus has also started to use a card tracking system.
He briefly wrote about it on his analysis of the new modern bleachers.
He uses a sheet to crossreferrence which cards are which and Mark's 60 lands in a coordinate like system. He got 4×15 rows and uses 4 letters to identify which row the card is. So if a land has A15 written on it he can see on his paper sheet what card it is. I've thought about it and if you had premade sheets you could pretty quickly write out a deck and write down each cards performance on the sheet. It means you don't have to cut up paperstrips all the time, so it could be faster, but less versatile. It must be hell to play with numbers rather than pictures though :)
But it was validation to see someone else use tracking of individual card performance:)

Look no spells have reached pioneer, so it's a matter of time before we see it hit modern too, though I think mill will deflate its succes
