I can see one problem, and it's something everyone has issues with at first, is the consistancy of the deck. You don't want alot of 1 of's. You wanna be able to kind of guess when you will be able to draw something also you want the deck to run pretty much the same each time. This is something all new players have to learn.I do see what you are going for. Look into Vizkopa guildmage and Exquisite blood.
I added more control to it. Plus AEtherling is a way to use the hidden strings....plus is one of my fav creatures from DGM. lol
I added the Hidden Strings. I was thinking more along the lines of a Reanimator deck. Any other thoughts
I was looking at that, but I went with this for one main reason.....I have all these cards. LOL don't have aristocrats. Plus only worring about 2 colors helps with the mana sources.
Fiend hunter reads : When Fiend Hunter enters the battlefield, you may exile another target creature. When Fiend Hunter leaves the battlefield, return the exiled card to the battlefield under its owner's control.when fiend hunter enters, in response to it entering play and before the triggers resolve, immediately sac it to aristocrat. this will trigger the second ability. since no creature was exiled when it leaves this ability fizzles. However since it entered play the first ability must trigger. this will exile a creature and since the secondary ability has already resolved the creature remains exiled. This is the same ruling as with destroying an Oblivion Ring in response to it entereing the battlefield.
Scythe of the Wretched is really fun with Ashling. You wipe the board and get all your opponents creatures.
I'd tend to disagree, Hydra is too slow. The avenger is fine. You flash it out on your opponents turn 2. I'd add the Militants into main and up the count of experiment one to 4. i'd also take out the yevas. just an idea. silverheart is good. you wanna swarm the field quick with this kind of deck.
The ability to re-bond at instant speed is better that I think you are giving it credit for. Also with as much ramp as you have it is not that hard to cast. As for what to take out, and don't shoot me, I would move the militants to side, add a 4th Pilgrim and run 2 Angels. But you said something that I agree with. This deck is built on you local meta. In my area this may not do as well. I am a fan of building for your play group.
I would take out Sublime. This is not a deck that you want one creature at a time to swing. Sigarda is GOOD, as is Restoration Angel.
Why not Restoration Angel? You have enough Soulbounds to make her very good.
relentless is good. but with as many creatures as this deck runs, I think the draw ability would be better than a simple search spell. Plus you have to sac a creature to trigger it. I do agree with you about restoration angel. Even Bant control runs atleast 2 of her. She is probably the best white creature in standard right now.
Why 3 Thragtusk in side? Thragtusk's interactions with Restoration Angel is amazing. I'd say run 2 in place of the Wolfir. Also Oblivion is a must atleast in side.
I'd take out the Chronologist. One it makes you a HUGE target, and two it is a douche of a card.
Curiousity is good. Personally I don't like use infinite combos in EDH since it is a Casual format only. It does say "may" so I guess it's not that bad. There is also Tandem Lookout.
Why Chromatic Lantern?
Also if you ad the Artifact lands, Trinket Mage can be used as mana ramp.
I totally agree with you Epsilon. EDH is a casual format that is meant to be fun. Sheldon Menery, probably butchered his last name, is one of the founding fathers of EDH. He literally help invent the format. The number one rule is "NO DOUCHEBAGGERY". Now curiosity on Dracogenius is pretty good and also not broken. But on the original Niv, that is douchebaggery to the Nth degree. I bet jace2155 is the kind of guy who would play Lighthouse Chronologist with Proliferate spells in a multiplayer EDH. LOL
I agree with you on everything except the Rewind. Yes, counter magic is would work well with this deck but Rewind is kinda slow or heavy costing. Negate would be good as would essence scatter. I could see 1 or 2 Rewind. Also Dissipate would be okay in this.
it's not an issue of mana. The rules of EDH state that ever spell and ability must be the color of your general.
