Deck Description

This deck started out when Ice Age first hit the shelves. Was originally designed to be a Type II back in the day. It ran Ashen Ghouls, Nethershadows, Krovikan Horrors, and Death Sparks. Later when Mirage came out, I threw in Hammer of Bogarden, Buried Alive, and even later, Shard Phoenix. Now this deck is just a casual play deck I run with playing with friends. So there are no real card restrictions for this deck, other than whats affordable.

Main strat for this deck is use Buried Alive to load up my graveyard and start popping out creatures from there. Have cards like Grave Pact, Krovikan Horror, and Shard Phoenix to keep other creature heavy decks at bay. This deck can get locked down early by heavy aggro decks, mill decks, any deck with game winning artifacts and enchantments, and any deck that removes graveyards. Even with all its flaws, its still really fun to play.

I would like to add newer cards to it as long as they fit the theme. I am just getting back into Magic again though, so I don't know what all is out there.

Deck discussion for TI B/R Graveyard Ashen Ghouls

Have you considered dredge? Necroplasm, Stinkweed Imp, Dakmor Salvage... these could make it much easier to play a whole lot of your creatures. Consider it? I like the deck, but why play from the grave WITHOUT dredge? Good stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion. This is a really outdated deck. I see what you mean by the dredge though. A couple days ago I was looking at a dredge deck that used Bazaar of Baghdad that almost milled itself to deck to cheat things into play.
