This is the first EDH I made. The very first game I played it in at a local store some girl saw that I was playing with saw it was infect. She commented "Oh you f***ing would play infect you f***ing douchebag". Everyone was quite shocked at her comment, and even more shocked when she picked up her deck and walked away. My first game of EDH, and I was already labeled a douchebag.... wtf? Funny thing is my win record with this deck isn't that good lol. Still fun to play because as soon as I drop the first creature I become the target at the table, so I get to play the first half of the game fending off everyone. So my question is, does playing Infect in EDH really make you a douchebag? Also, how can I make this deck better? If I converted it into a non Infect deck, but wanted to keep it U/B, what should I change? Appreciate the feed back!

Would whispersilk cloak help you at all here? I've never played EDH but it would be nice with infect and shroud.

I don't play EDH myself, but playing in infect EDH deck sounds very hateful.
While playing infect in EDH didn't warrent that girl's response, the reason people despise it so much is because you only have to deal 10 damage to someone while they all have to do 40. That's only a quarter of the damage. So unless they're playing a control type deck, you're going to win before the game even gets started. That's why everyone hates infect EDH.
Fudgeman123, I know what you mean by only doing 10 damage. One on one this deck does ok, however, in a group setting eith 4-6 people, I just get gang beat. The one disadvantage I am noticing with this deck is that I can't assist in kills of other players. Since all of my damage is infect, if someone is down to their last 5 life, I can't ever deliver the final blow to take someone out. Its why I am debating just going U/B control. Racky54, I wasn't being hateful when I made the deck. I just thought I was being clever and getting around the 40 damage, and also getting around some of the annoying seemingly infinite life gaining decks I've ran accross. From my experience, in the EDH format, Infect still remains the only way to take care of some of the life gain decks. Phan7asm, Whispersilk may help here. I am definitely thinking about it, but I am not sure what I would cut for it.
Maybe take out blightsteel for it? Unless you have a faster way of casting him he shouldn't be to useful. Infect decks are supposed to win ASAP and hes just too much mana
You could use Wrexial to put the final damage in. I have a Wrexial EDH deck myself, and I run Urborg, tomb of Yawgmoth. It's amazing with hime and it puts a four or five turn timer on the game. If you could get an Urborg, it would greatly help that deck. A little more land in general will help you as well.
Hmmm... Actually I have an Urborg, I have no idea why I didn't throw it in here though. Good call man! I will ditch a Swamp for it. I do like the idea of Wrexial with swords and a Jitte, pretty terrifying! I may rework things so I can focus on getting in that 21 General damage with Wrexial, vs the 10 infect damage that people call me a "douchebag" for lol. Though, I would like to retain a few infect critters, because a lot of the guys I play with have life gain decks and they are ridiculously annoying. Thanks again for the tip man!
Maybe think about Snapcaster and Phantasmal image, especially if you add more shroud/hexproof. Also, maybe, glistening oil/skull clamp. Just suggestions!
