Deck Description

My mind is just stuck on getting Rite of Replicatin and Annointed Procession together so I'll start with two of each.

Then I'll need a way to either generate tons of mana quickly, or a way to stall out the game until I can "hard cast" them. Since I'm already in blue and white I'll probably go with a balance of both.

The final component, is of course, valid targets for good ole RoR.

Putting 5 to 10 copies of just about creature on to the battlefield in a single turn is pretty close to sure win, so my first focus will be on creatures that help out with either function one (mana) or function two (tempo).

*** UPDATE 06/18/2017***

Thanks to all the feedback I've recieved, I've decided to try and buid multiple, differrent, RoR themed, decks.

This being the u/w one. Focused on both RoR and Anointed Procession.

Then there's a solid green/black/blue version with shaman of the pack and biovisionary as the wins. Seems legit. Shoutout to Dedwards, Tracking Device, and so_maro90 for the suggestions.

And then kailla suggested a blue/black faerie version.

How to Play

First up: Archaeomancer.

The first time I kicked RoR on an Archaeomancer I was in love! Refill my hand with all my good spells AND get an army of 2/2's. First time I tried it was in Duels of the Planeswalkers: 2013 and I've been hooked ever since. Make sure to grab your Rite of Replication when your done!

Next: Since Archaeomancer is being run full set, let's support him with a full set of both Aether Tradewinds and Familiar's Ruse. Boomerang, Counterspell AND Clone on a stick!

Of course, this is extremely mana expensive, so we'll need ways of making tons of mana in a hurry and/or stalling out the first 5-8 turns of the game. Preferably both.

Which is the rub, because while white/blue does a great at stalling games, it's terrible at mana ramp. How do I solve this problem?

*** UPDATE ***

I'm adding a pair of Lullmage's because they go great with both RoR and AP, quickly creating a board where everytime you counter a spell you get enough merfolk tokens to keep counting spells and creating merfolk tokens.

Also, I'm adding in a playset of Sage of Epityr so I can have a cheap, effective and valid target for RoR, Aether Tradewinds and Familiar's Ruse.

Deck discussion for DBC: RoR and A. Procession

Well there are some ways to ramp in a white deck, though non is really efficient as it normally depends on what your opponent has on the field: Gift of Estates, Knight of the White Orchid (Also a solid RoR target) or Weathered Wayfarer. Another version would be to splash green and go for something I call defender-ramp: Axebane Guardian and/ or Overgrown Battlement and any number of good defenders.
As for the stall this is something Azorius is perfect at: Archangel of Tithes (Also a good RoR target), Cowed by Wisdom, or Ghostly Prison will stop him from attacking you with creatures while Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Vryn Wingmare will be a pain in the ass when he tries to cast something else.

I love the way you think, now I just gotta find a way to play test it. I hope those aren't too expensive to get. ??

If Kicking Rite of Replication is the goal, you will most likely have to go a third colour, specifically green. Now there's a few way to ramp into a kicked Rite of Replication and still get value of of the copies, but one of my favorites is Allies. Specifically Harabaz Druid to ramp and Halimar Excavator to target with Right of Replication.

Thinking about it now, you don't have to go white as there's a green card that does exactly what Anointed Procession does: Parallel Lives. Although, with the Ally idea, you may want to keep white for cards like Ondu Cleric and Hada Freeblade.

Another option is Elves. With thier natural mana production and Parallel Lives instead of Anointed Procession, you can go GBU with the Elves and target things like Shaman of the Pack with Rite of Replication.

Lastly there's the boring way of just playing a lot of land ramp spells, which works well with Archaeomancer, which can return a spell to ramp again. Eternal Witness helps here too.

I would love to see the elf deck. How fun would it be to kill your opponent with 5 shaman of the pack

Correct me if my maths is wrong, but the way I understand it, with Shaman of the Pack bring the only Elf in play when kicking Rite of Replication, the opponent loses 30 life.

L = S x E
L {life lost} = S {Number of Shaman of the Pack entering the battlefield} x E {Number of Elves on the battlefield when resolving}
L = 5 (from kicked RoR) x 6 (1 original + 5 copies)
L = 30

I think it actually goes in sequence, so it be one life for the first Shamen, then 2, then 3, 4, 5, 6 for a total of 21. Either way is a win, but now I'm thinking of creating several different RoR themed decks, they all sound like sooo much fun!

Maybe you could add the green and win with Biovisionary.
Cards that Help: Cackling Counterpart, Parallel Lives, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Rampanth Growth (to mana ramp and have more chance to draw the right cards)

Can't believe I forgot about Biovisionary.

Another janky idea I came up with to make more copies of a win condition with Parallel Lives / Anointed Procession out and Saheeli's Artistry. Phyrexian Metamorph copies something, but is an artifact in addition to its other types, allowing you to target it with both of effects of Saheeli's Artistry. Similarly, Liquimetal Coating can turn something into an artifact in addition to its other types, allowing for the same trick.

This is getting fun, so many great ways of playing off this core concept! Thanks for all the ideas!

And I just remembered that blue has both hedron crab and "harrow on a stick" aka Dreamscape Artist! That might help keep me in u/w and serves as a great excuse to put that two-card combo into a deck. I loved that two-card combo.

I would say forget the white and go Parallel Lives instead and use green ramp.
If I was picking a target for Rite I would check things with hexproof so your opponent can't shoot it down with something like path to exile.

Here is a few cards I was thinking of.
I will build a version of this deck and share what I come up with

--Wurmcoil Engine x4
--Parallel Lives x4
--Rite of Replication x2

Wurmcoil with Parallel is already good but with rite of replication it will be crazy

But wurmcoil sounds painful to my wallet.. ??

Yeah that may be a concern. If ya give me what your budget is I can help better.

0

My typical budget is twenty-five dollars. And I usually die a little on the inside if I have to spend it all on just a few cards.

If you use the idea I had you could go with hornet queen or armada wurm.
Which would create a ton of tokens when copied with parallel lives or anointed possession.

The best ramp in non-green decks are, of course, artifacts. Sky Diamond, Marble Diamond, Azorius Signet, Azorius Cluestone, Azorius Keyrune, Ojutai Monument, Fieldmist Borderpost, Seashell Cameo, Talisman of Progress, Chromatic Lantern, Wayfarer's Bauble, Dreamstone Hedron, Hedron Archive, Mind Stone, Sol Ring, Thran Dynamo, Worn Powerstone, or utility artifacts like Magnifying Glass or Unstable Obelisk or artifact creatures, Hedron Archive, Alloy Myr, Gold Myr, Palladium Myr, Plague Myr, Silver Myr. Good creatures to replicate include Reflector Mage, Cloudblazer, Spire Patrol, Archangel of Serenity, Angel of Sanctions, Baneslayer Angel, etc.

Hey... what if i went green/blue and all in on bio visionary, the artifact clone, AND that new enchantment that says I win the game if I control 8 or more of an artifact?

Have you considered the Urzatron lands with Expedition Map? Would help keep it two colors.

0

Isn't Urzatron typically expensive? Really, my only qualm is dropping alot of money into a deck.

Tron lands is like 2 dollars each I think being 24 dollars total.

Omg, Lullmage + Anointed Procession...

That feels troll AF!

I mean, with two of each, I got the infinite loop established!

faeries seem a good fit to me. faerie miscreant would be a good target for RoR. cloud of faeries, faerie imposter and/or quickling, spell stutter sprite and maybe even scion of oona would all synergize greatly and be relatively cheap.

the miscreants do see each other come in btw, http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=398459

also, since you are running anointed procession, faerie artisans could be a possibilty.

I've always wanted to try a fairy deck, they were infamous at one point but I wasn't very active at the time so I missed the boat. Ton's of solid ideas to play around with, I might just end up trying to build em all. Thanks for the tips!

Another card I'd recommend that doesn't see much play is Thieves' Fortune. It's amazing if you're running Rogues, which you have two of right now.
