Deck Description

Just a fun little deck to say "No." to everything in my meta. Put it together quick and ran it yesterday in my meta. Occasionally lost game 1 but then the sideboard fixed it after every time. This was a quite effective deck.

Good match ups:

Living End
Jund
Burn
Soul Sisters

Bad match ups:

8 Rack
Affinity
Delver

How to Play

This deck take's some piloting. But such is true for every control deck. Main goal, keep creatures off the battlefield and win with things like Elspeth, Gideon, and Luminarch Ascension. The sideboard is all meant for specific decks in my meta. If you have a deck that isn't covered, switch the sideboard around a bit.
Sideboard hate is listed for these decks.

Grafdigger's cage: Delver, Reanimator
Torpor Orb: Soul Sister's
Aven Mindcensor & Meddling Mage: Useful in many scenarios, use accordingly.
Leyline of Sanctity: Burn & 8 Rack
Rest in Peace: Living End and more Reanimator
Stony Silence: Affinity

There ya have it. Remember that this deck is all about playing the right spells at the right time. Don't Serum visions right before you crack a fetch land. Don't tap out to play a planeswalker you can't protect. And at the end of the day, even if you lose, you frustrated your opponent to no end in the process. Which is great.

Deck discussion for W/U Control in Modern

Seems quite solid. I'd love to play against it, the masochist in me loves playing against control :P

Have you thought about Story Circle? You can already shut down creatures, but Story Circle puts up the iron dome for you.

Never heard of it. I'll look into it.

Michiko London, Truth Seeker may be a good choice, as well.

Looked at Story Circle and am considering it. I'm not quite sure of the deck I would need it against. Since the only direct damage I have trouble dealing with is Affinity. And that card doesn't help much there.

I like the deck, don't get me wrong, but I do think that the versatility allowed by WUR Control, such as it's burn and enhanced win-cons, makes it slightly more efficient, and therefore stronger (it's modern). It's a viable deck, sure, but it seems just slightly less viable than the three-color variant. I don't mean to be a downer, just a biased critic. XD

I honestly thought about making it WUR (technically Jeskai now) control. But didn't have cards available. It will most likely rotate there eventually.

Here's the list that has the red in it. Still missing some cards so didn't run it.
