Deck discussion for millin like a villan

Hmmmm . . . I reckon it should be more focused on milling, and you should take out Jace, because he just mills on his own. You have a lot of probably take out the Nighthawks and put in Guard Gomazoas. Playset of Traumatize and Keening Stone are definately necesary, and a playset of Hedron Crabs. Perhaps just focus your deck a little, because it seems to be a very combat based milling deck. However, you can include combat elements such as unblockable creatures with Sword of Body and Mind.

in my view i belive jace is an admirable asset to any mill deck that contains blue. he can help you go through your cards faster to get what you need and then he is really nice after a traumitize. but those are my personal views do whatever works best for you. i hope it works out man.

Leyline of the Void will take care of that.

Nihil spell bombs would be better. You can even get a draw out of them.

0
Posted 08 January 2011 at 19:06

Nihil won't work against Eldrazi because it would be in the graveyard when the mill spell resolves. It's effect would kick in before the Nihil. Void gets rid of the effect altogether because it never hits the graveyard. Nihil is good card, but won't stop the Eldarzi.

Nihil DOES work against the Eldrazi because the graveyard shuffling is an ability that uses the stack just like everything else.

In response to the ability being activated, tap sac the spell bomb to exile the grave yard before the shuffle ability resolves.

Mind Funeral is indeed a very powerful mill card, and would benefit your deck greatly. Another powerful mill card is Glimpse the Unthinkable. It's a bit expensive, being one of the best mill cards around, but if you can get your hands on it, it'll help out a bunch. Also, if you're worried about Eldrazi, just sideboard 2-3 Ravenous Traps. They'll do the trick =]

Ming funeral, Glimpse of the unfogetable, 4x tome scour

Also more creature focus - 2x nemisis of treason, more hedron crab e.t.c

Grindstone and painters servant. If you wanna combo that kills potently and quickly. Oh, I would definitely suggest that you either replace the jace's erasure with something better, or take the three out completely, never in my time playing have those been a problem for me to play against and to be honest, I think they actually helped me mill through the cards I didn't need at the moment haha. But yes, take them out unless your geared more towards a draw power deck, where this isn't the concept here in this one (obviously.)

And I would definitely look at taking out the wall of tangle cords, and the gomazoa, stick with the wall of frost's or try to add a little white and try out wall of denial, it's a great card for mill decks or control decks. A lot of your support cards are also 2 mana, so I would look into getting a couple of muddle the mixture's in here to either counter your opponents stuff, or get other stuff to your hand. And if you decide to go to the artifact mill route, look into thirst for knowledge, great card when you have an artifact to discard that you don't need at the time.
Good luck with your deck!

You need to run 4x grindclocks, 4x thrummingbird :)... Oh yeah! 4x steady progress, with those, you will have your grindclocks decimating your opponents deck. Oh yerh, since you're playing black, i don't see why there are not diabolic tutors in there.

hmmm... It seems you lack Glimpse the Unthinkable. In case of eldrazi, instead of putting in cards like leyline of the void, just sideboard them. Also, sideboard Sadistic Sacrament.

0

I'll second the sideboard idea, especially because where I play, I dont often see the eldrazi at all. Maybe only once in a while see someone run the spawns for sac mana. Either way, you will definitely want to run 4 tome scour, 4 hedron crab, also another sideboard option, or main deck for that matter, may be Archive Trap.. I dont think Ive seen anyone mention that yet, but Traumatize gets to be less and less mill the more its played, because the deck only gets halved. Archive Trap is a solid 13 cards, played for 0 cost if your opponent searches through their deck, otherwise its out for 3BB. To go back to the eldrazi for a moment, I would probably go with the nihil spellbombs, only because they are rather cheap to play, and they resolve nicely, much easier than the leyline, because then you dont have options to recover mill, if you happen to run anything in your deck to recover spells, or the entire graveyard (i.e. Quest for Ancient Secrets)
