Deck Description

Well, feeling a bit silly because apparently both version of this deck are vintage only, but yes. Find a creature that solves your problems. Bury it. Reanimate it. Huzzah.

How to Play

Mulligan aggressively for something to get something of yours in the graveyard and something to bring it back. An ideal start would be: Two swamps, duress/thoughtseize, entomb, reanimate, and whatever else. That's any creature in the game on turn 2 and ideally duress protected them from removal.

Sideboard in Scion of Darkness and Duress against mirror match, Moldgraf for things with removal, Crosis if you want to further destroy their hand, and Angel of Despair for those pesky permanents that death doesn't cure. Phantom Nishoba is in for another way to stall aggressive decks, as it will net you a ton of life and a ton of wasted effort trying to kill it.

Oh, yeah. Reanimate deck, though, so hopefully I won't get too screwed.

ok that's what I was waiting to see :P looks like a very interesting deck, how well does it work?

It does pretty well! Sire of Insanity and Jin both mainboard is a bit of overkill but I'm very afraid of swords and cards like it. But most of the time it's Avacyn, Iona, and either Archon or Elesh anyway. Sickening Dreams is very underrated and can both send badly drawn creatures to the graveyard and stall a rush. Overall, it's just sort of a "pick a creature that solves a problem and make it a zombie", in a non-tribal sense.

hehe, Grave Betrayal would be a great card too. Now your opponent's creatures are your zombies! :P

Also, You can choose to Sire before Jin since they both say at the beginning, so you have seven cards for their turn...

Yep! I did that once and had to get that clarified. Once the judge confirmed, the guy just conceded.

That does look like a really fun and effective deck. Now that Hymn to Tourach is only restricted, that wouldn't hurt either! Unless just playing friendly, in which case use 4 and make your friends mad! >.>

Don't have any, same with so many other cards that would work super well. I forgot to put a couple that I do have in there, since I was just making that list from memory. Nezumi Graverobber, for one :P

Also, feel free to check out my other decks and let me know what you think! I'm especially looking for thoughts on http://www.mtgvault.com/psykodell/decks/kalonian-beatdown-fnm-modern/
because I'll be playing it tonight.

That looks like a harder and stronger version of the deck my girlfriend plays. Considering she's been playing for a week and is already trying to find Friday Night Magic near us, I'd say that's a great start. No sideboard, or just none listed?

no board, I very rarely remember to even use them :P also, I don't think I have the cards to stop the decks that I can't outright overpower with those hydras

No, but it's a start. There's a lot to be said for aggro decks!

kicking myself for that comment, lost first round to a deck I could easily have stopped with naturalize... won every other match, took 5th, prizes stopped at 4th. Sad panda.

Ouch, but hey, a streak is a streak even if it's late!

yeah, and it wasn't too bad at least I took 1 game, plus I won the last two matches against this particular player and he is one of the best that plays regularly at my FLGS... so not too shabby, especially when he runs blue-white infinite combo :P
