Deck Description

The purpose of this deck is to bring out Blightsteel Colossus and equip with with Whispersilk Cloak for that one-hit win. I hope to use Tinker and Demonic Tutor to find Forgemaster if I don't have it in my hand already. Mox Opal can help with the 5 cost mana, but most the other creatures are 1 or less CMC, making Forgemaster very easy to use. I also have Spellkite in there to counter any spells that would hinder my one combo. Cathedral Membrane's also in there as a blocker, and it's shock cost is handy.

I'm not looking to show someone my deck, but rather to ask if anyone has any suggestions as to how to make it better. The sideboard is filled with cards I considered putting in.

Thanks!

Deck discussion for Blightsteel [WIP]

Hmmmm, Well since you have 4 Demonic Tutors in here I'm going to assume that this'll be more of a casual deck. So I would recomend Sol Ring, cuz 1 colorless for a tap for 2 artifact is just broken, and will help speed up your early game. For casting Blightsteel Colossus I would recomend Mycosynth Golem since all your creatures are artifacts. Then I would also add one of these two options, The first being a combo of Etherium Sculptor which lowers the cost of artifact spells by 1 colorless and Cheif Engineer which gives artifact spells you cast convoke. The second option being Urza-tron (Urza's Mine, Urza's Tower, and Urza's Power Plant) use that to ramp for days... But so far I like the deck! Good luck with it.

Thanks for the ideas! I've tried out the proxy deck a couple of times and feel as if blockers are unnecessary if I can get the combo off fast enough. Life doesn't matter much if an early one-swing'll win the game. I was thinking about also putting in Stoneforge Mystic to get Whispersilk Cloak faster, do you think it's worth replacing my current blockers (Cathedral Membrane) with her? And I might take Demonic Tutor out, since it brings cards to my hand and not on the battlefield like Forgemaster and Tinker do. I'll definitely add Urza-tron into the deck, but I'm not sure how to balance out the mana.. Can there only be 4 non-basic lands per deck? Thanks for the help!

Yeah you can only have 4 copies of each card in a deck except for Basic lands, so non-basic lands fall under this catagory. As for if you should drop Cathedral Membrane for Stoneforge Mystic, I would say go for it because you only have two copies of the card. So you have to think it won't come out that often and which would benifite you deck more. Also I saw you have Herbal Poultice I would swap it out for welding JAr, also a 0 drop but you don't have to pay 3 to regenerate and you can regenerate any artifact but only artifacts.

Changes have been made! Now that Diabolic Tutor is gone, I'll replace my Swamps for Plains to pay for Stoneforge Mystic. I'm debating whether or not to put in Urza-Tron though.. I'm not sure how I'd balance the basic lands if Urza-Tron's in the deck. Also, does the Legendary rule apply to Mox Opal?

Yes it does, I didn't catch that one, so I'd drop that to 3 or 2.... just so you don't get it stuck in your hand. I would put a full set of Urza tron then put a few fetch and pain lands in to balance the land draw out... Also maybe throw in some Myr's that produce mana to throw in a little more balance aka Silver and Gold Myr... But other than that I would just mess around with the deck until you find something that works for you and compliments your playing style.
