Deck Description

Simic is awesome. Don't judge harshly just cuz they're a bit different. :)

How to Play

Well, obviously, you play it like a simic deck. But one awesome thing I included is an interesting combo with vorel, eternity vessel, and tree of redemption. See if you can figure it out...

best use for KH in a deck like this is to summon it on there turn with prophet, then swing the next turn to double everyone with 1/1 counters on them.

Yeah, I got that in! It worked awesome! thanks for the pointers! :)

I don't know, too many creatures...

0

One of the main points of the deck is getting the creatures down. They do the work without other spells. :)

I like the combo but honestly with the Forgotten Ancient its a Legacy deck, which makes your competition much more powerful. If this was Modern you would do much better in my opinion, but as a casual deck its pretty sweet.

I dont see a combo. I see an interaction between Vorel and Eternity Vessel, but im unsure why you need Tree.

Same with me but great deck! please look at my weed deck if you have time. :)

I'll show you. First, eternity vessel with 40 or so counters from being doubled a couple of times. Then, switch your life with tree of redemption's toughness so that you have 13 life and 40 toughness on the tree, then, play aland and you have 40 life again. :) Make sense?

-1
Posted 25 January 2014 at 17:49

its still not a combo, just an (un)interesting interaction. why do you need a 0/40 tree that can only block one dude? there is no discernible reason for this to happen...why not focus on winning the game, instead of just not losing it?

3
Posted 25 January 2014 at 19:16

the point of an aggro deck is to just win as fast as you can. But don't you think that an easy to make 0/40 that can revert your life total to 40 at instant speed would be slightly annoying. It's hard to do 40 in one turn, especially if I can get it back at any time and make you need to do 40 again. Believe me. It gets annoying. But thanks.:)

Ok, tell me what you think of these cards.
savage summoning
strength of the tajuru
Green sun's zenith
fog bank
increasing savagery
primordial hydra
renegade krasis
polukranos
I put them in my sidedeck to show them to you. :) Please consider

Please also put down what you think that I should remove. :)

0

I vote Yes to Renegade Krasis, Progenitor Mimic, Fog Bank and Kalonian Hydra. That's the only Hydra I vote yes for because the other three won't double the Counters on your other monsters nearly every attack phase when you get Kalonian Hydra on the field.

0

I vote same except I think you should put in strength of tadu

0
Posted 26 January 2014 at 16:51

Yeah, I keep mistcutter in my sidedeck in case of control. And I don't know about fog bank, it doesn't really help to give it counters, but I'll try it out more. :) Renegade rarely does anything, but I guess that it's probably because I rarely play him. :P Thanks guys! Progenitor is tricky because it costs 6 and isn't as good against some decks. And I was planning on putting in tajuru even if nobody said anything. Thanks :)

I'm late, but you should definitely put in Priomordial Hydra. I had a deck with a Kalonian/Primordial combo, and in four turns my primordial was in the thousands. The Kalonian Hydra pumps him after he's already gotten +1/+1's for the turn. It's insane.

Personally I think come the release of Born of the Gods there are definitely a couple of cards that could make the Sideboard.

Incidentally, have you thought about putting in Kiora, The Crashing Wave into this? At best her Ultimate triggers Evolve on all the creatures you have out, locks down one of their monsters and you have a bit of a land advantage. At Worst she's a shield that takes away the threat a removal card or saves you some Life?

0

Yeah, I can't wait to get kiora. I'll probably be buying 2 or 3 as soon as she comes out. Haha. She is awesome

Check out my deck. It is somewhat similar to this deck, but has a bitter sweet build to it. If I'm lucky with Fathom Mage, Crowned Ceratok, Kalonian Hydra and Vorel of the Hull Clade, when I use a Predators Raport, I can Cast a Voracious Wurm with more than 1000 +1/+1 counters with trample, along with me gaining that much life!!! It hasn't happened yet, since I end up killing them really early, but if the opponents deck is focused towards life gain, I can imagine that the deck can get to that point of awesomeness.

To be quite honest this deck is a mess. I've seen many better Simic decks in standard than this, let alone one that is extended LET ALONE one that is freaking legacy.

All I see is a bunch of counter interactions that don't really go anywhere.

If you want Simic abuse I suggest looking at cards like Lorescale Coatl and Blessings of Nature. You also definitely want two more Fathom Mages and Bioshifts, and maybe also two more Give // Take and less overall creatures. Fathom Mage and Lorescale Coatl have lots of opportunity together. I would probably also add Aqueous Form as it would help immensely getting a winning swing in - plus the scry never hurts.

I would take out the Boots, Eternity Vessel, Trees, and Forgotten Ancients for sure. The boots aren't really necessary, the Eternity Vessel is an overly high cost control/landfall deck card, the Tree is just pointless, and Forgotten Ancient is too slow outside of multiplayer.

I see your points, but this deck isn't meant to be an aggro deck. It can be hard to make a simic deck more aggro than gruul and rakdos anyway. The point of this deck is to destroy my opponents in 3 or 4 player, and hold off until I can wreck face in 1on 1. I have another attempted aggro simic deck that I haven't posted on here, but it revolves around many of the points that you made. Thanks. :) Btw, I like your esper EDH deck a lot. I've never seen one before but it looks great! Keep up the great work. :)

I would drop Fathom Mage. I mean, on turn 4, you should have some of creatures out and evolving, so a 1/1 Evolver is not going to do much good. That's just my look on things here.

This deck makes me feel slightly unoriginal. Although you only have a way to make two creatures hexproof. So a white blue control/lockdown or a red black burn/remove deck will usually beat this deck.
The reason this makes me feel unoriginal is because I built a somewhat similar deck, never having saw it before I thought it was new. All well.:D
If you feel like looking.

This deck is rarely beat by burn decks, but Esper control decks can give it trouble. I don't have much in the way of boardwipe prevention and countering.

0
Posted 11 February 2014 at 04:03

Not so much the burn, but things like, oh, you just summoned a huge kalonian hydra.. doom blade. Or Hero's downfall to your master biomancer. Fathom Mage? Spark Jolt. Experiment One? Shock. These are instants so it can be done before you equip it with hexproof. That has generally been my experience anyway.

0
Posted 11 February 2014 at 14:52

Yeah, but this deck is so full of cards that your opponent will want to kill immediately, that they waste all of their cards on the experiment ones and the simic manipulators. Then I can play my big creatures and they're toast! Also Aceticism doesn't allow any of that to happen...

love simic, my first deck was a simic. really like this, and I would side board some undying creatures like young wolf, stangleroot geist, and vorapede. to fight board wipe and even spot removal, also bioshift and undying can be a nice combo.
