This deck revolves around getting creature cards into your graveyard quickly and then reaping the rewards. Graveyard creatures can be scavenged for tasty +1/+1 counters, or you can leave them be to buff an onslaught of other creatures like Jarad.
When playing this deck, it's important to start by building up a semi-decent board state early game. Doing this allows you to have multiple targets for scavenge, and also makes it harder for your opponent to effectively remove your "big guns." As your graveyard fills up from death, sacrifices, and self-mill, it's a good time to start scavenging. The primary scavenging targets are Varolz and the Lotleh Troll, as they can regenerate, and Lotleth has trample. However, it is important that before scavenging that you consider how much it will affect creatures that rely on your graveyard. Once you build up a solid enough board state, you should be able to crush your opponent.NOTE: The Elixir is a backup plan usable for saving you from complete self-mill.

That's a great idea, I guess you really can never regret a four mana 5/5.
