Deck discussion for Boros Warfare

i really like this its well balanced even down to destroying the lands ( ajani vengant )given by the path to exile whilst handling things cheaply early on ! martial coup and conquerors pledge keeping teh numbers up and some big good valuve for mana flyers to boot and land fetch knight of white orchids - excellent.

Thank you so much for the comment mate, and don't worry I'll be sure to check your things out soon. Anyways my favorite part about this deck is that one day when I was playing it, I had an Ajani Goldmane and a Glory of Warfare on the field, then I cast a kicked Conqueror's Pledge and used my Ajani's -1 ability the next turn, and oh man the look on my face when I swung for 48 damage, so awesome. Well thank you so much again for the comment and I'll check your decks out, right now. Have a great day, man!

I like the deck, but not much happens until turn three for you. You could use some one drops. And since 90% of your deck rotates out in October, you might as well keep it as an extended deck in which case adding Figure of Destiny in the deck might help. Student of Warfare is another nice one drop. As is Goblin Guide. Just some ideas for you dude. 8/10

I thought about adding those in but really it is just so hard to know what to take out, in the original deck there were Figure of Destiny's and they really didn't fit in, I never used their abilities because I was rather casting weenies or buffing them up, and I beleive it will be the same with Student of Warfare. But I did think before about adding Goblin Guide's and they might make indeed a nice addition, but like I said it's really hard to think about what to take out. Thank you for the comment and high rating, mate!

Yeah, I can see your decks are really improving man. I like this one, plus the Goblin Assault just to help mix it up w/ more blockables. Excellent combinations w/ some of the cards such as Exile for control mixed w/ Elspeth would be sick as hell. Very nice work boss, 9.7 Stars!

Most of this deck rotates out of Standard on October 1st. I would definitely swap out the 2 old elspeth's for the new and ajani vengeant for Koth of the Hammer. Knight of the White Orchard for maybe Transcendant Master or Student of Warfare. (hence the warefare name still) Glory of Warfare will be hard to replace unless Scars offers something similar; same with Goblin Assault. Path to Exile can be swapped for Condemn, and Martial Coup for Day of Judgment. Intimidation bolt is a decent card, but if you swap it out with Gideon Jura, they all just attack him instead of you and then they are left wide open for an attack.

I hope this adivce helps if you plan to keep it in standard...

That is some really good advice Drumhead, but idk bout Koth of the Hammer seeing as how 2/3 of the deck is white and I only have 6 mountains. Also, is Swords to Plowshares legal in Standard? I really hope so. I really, really, really don't want to add levelers to this deck because I'll be using up all my mana every turn for a good spell after turn 3, so Transcendent Master and Student of Warfare won't be at their best levels. And besides, Knight of the White Orchid is just so epic. But I definitly like what ou told me about Gideon, and Elspeth. I will definitly be thinking about that. Also I will keep this Standard. Thanks for the help!

Shit, I just checked out the Standard format and they're gonna ban Conflux, and the Alara Block on October 1st. I guess I'll have to make this Extended now.

hello good buddy fluffstar here, i see youve already intergrated elseph in so not sure what you took out for her, but i would say that as long as your happy with it it is prob a good swap ive read all the comments on here and cast my eye over it and the whole deck is about boosting weenies and making sure they stick around well elseph generates them, boosts them, and makes the little blitters indestructable so she would seem the perfect fit, i just hope you lost something of a similar mana cost as sometimes you can rock the mechanics of a deck, still really like this one and still a 10 from me pal. (remeber if u get chance to check the revised version of my usain bolt deck) cheers mate !, also see youve slimmed down on the decks i take it these are the ones you catualy have consructed an do actualy play ? take care bruv.

Yo fluffstar! Thanks man, I saw your revised usain bolt on the front page, so don't worry man, I'll be sure to check it out. I just bought this deck a few minutes ago, and even though I wont be able to play Standard anymore *cries*, I'll be rockin the next Extended tournaments. The reason I slimmed down the decks is cause a lot of people dont like my guild decks and the bushwhacker decks, so I decided only to make Tournament Quality decks for Extended from now on. Also you are correct about the constructed part, even though I don't buy cards, instead I simply trade them. Thanks for the high rating and take care, man!

Damn right man, I don't know if you noticed but I added some new cards in here. Took out Ajani Goldmane for Elspeth Tirel (taking advantage of Scars of Mirrodin), and got rid of Martial Coup for Rise of the Hobgoblins. Thanks for all the nice things you've said and all you've helped me man, you're a real good guy and just as good as a deck builder. Cheers and I'll be checkin your profile from time to time, man!

If you ever go Legacy of Vintage with this thing or possibly EDH with it you should rock Lightning Helix and Razia's Purification.

My plans with this Deck is to stay Extended until the Lorwyn Block rotates out, then I will change this back to the original Standard Version so I can stay in Extended, then once the Shards of Alara Block rotates out of Extended, I will be playing EDH Tournaments until I find a Deck I like that's Legal in Standard or Extended. I am a huge hater of Legacy and Vintage because every single Deck I see in those formats always run playsets of extremely expensive Cards (Such as: Dual-Lands, Shock-Lands, Tutors, and every single Blue Spell in the History of MTG), which while I hate to say it, cannot afford ATM. I am thinking of a Boros Warfare EDH Deck, though I still have my doubts with the idea. Thanks for the comment! :D

I suppose, I do know a few guys at my FNM that play the Formats, I guess I could talk to them about it. I still think they're expensive as hell though.

Probably 'cause this Deck was made waaaay before the Patch. I'll contact Gary 'bout this, see what he's got to say.

My first guess is that the deck was actually popular before we put the top decks live. I calculated decks current scores based on the likes/comments/quality etc the deck had already earned and if this meant the deck was made popular then it would go on the top decks list... only problem with this is that first list was then ordered by score, highest first so yours may well have not been on the homepage. Unfortunately a deck can only be made popular once, so yes the decks like this one that were made popular before the new top decks page went live will be casualties of war and never get to the homepage.
