The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Another deck using pre-modern cards. I enjoy the challenge of building decks from old cards that stand a chance against the new cards. I also like the older, sometimes tacky artwork.
The people I play with generally have creature based decks so I put some blockers that might make them refrain from attacking until I can cast Noetic Scales. Null Brooch is my only defense against noncreature spells.Once hands are empty I can attack with Vampire Bats and Walking Wall and do a little damage with Megrim.EDIT:After playing a few games I've noticed that after casting Bottomless Pit and having no cards in my hand, Tainted Pact and Desperate Research become pointless. Not sure how to fix this...

How about Dark Ritual? It's a great pre-modern card and causes a bit of mana-ramp.

I didn't use Dark Ritual because I didn't think it would do any good once my hand is empty. I also seem to have it in almost every black deck I've made. Don't know what I could swap for it either.
Okay, that makes sense.
Maybe Glyph of Doom
I like that card and it could be useful early game, but the way I try to run this deck is to have all hands empty by turn 4 or 5. If Noetic Scales is out my little walls can usually block little creatures with haste and then they're simply returned to their owner's hand at the beginning of their upkeep.
I have a similar deck that i used to run Megrim in. I eventually caved and switched to lilianas caress just to make it more competative against other decks. Im not sure if totally commited to to using the Walls but Hypnotic Spector is aways great in a discard theme. ravenous rats are cool becasue if they get bounced by noetic Scales you can recast and re-trigger. The rack and the cursed rack would fit well here I think.
Thanks for the suggestions. The Rack would definitely fit this deck well, but I'm not sure if I'm willing to spend the money on it. Hypnotic Specter would be good, but I'd have to discard it if Noetic Scales and Warped Devotion were on the battlefield.
Drag the Mind Swords art into the white box next to the title. It will make your deck much more appealing.
