someone really should be shot, then drawn and quartered.

If you feel you need to give a deck a -1, give some kind of explanation. Don't hate because one of your decks hasn't made it on the list, or is rated lower. I know many of the top users of this site would agree. You don't like a deck, why?

As for myself, if I don't like a deck, i don't + or -. If I think it needs work and i can help with suggestions, I do so.

i abso-f'n-lutely agree. people should "help" people make the decks better. thats what the sites for. if i think someone needs help, i try to help them out. I wont give them a thumbs down just because it isn't "Great" yet. people are trying their best on here. This is especially for the beginners out here that are looking for help but are only getting thumbs downs. That can be pretty discouraging to them. Its not fair. If you don't like a deck, explain why and give suggestions. there are really no reasons to give thumb downs in my opinion.

Exactly!! I can't tell how many of my decks and those of people I know on here that get up on the board and then a day later go down to a 2 or 1, solely because it was competing for a spot in the ratings. And I totally agree with what you said if you don't like a deck, just give them your advice and opinion on the matter and that should be it.

As someone who has never had a deck on the top rated list (that I know of), I really can;t say I have ever felt the need to thumb them down. Nor have I felt the need for any other deck, for that matter.

so, my deck call of dante is at plus 7 with some good comments from people about how they liked it and how they would change it when suddenly it drops down to 4......this is rediculous

Guys, we're going to be looking over the rating system over the next few weeks, we know this is an issue and it's pretty high up the list, we'll probably end up changing how the system works and starting all ratings from scratch because of it.

Bear with us while we work on it and for now I wouldn't worry too much about the current voting system; it never used to be here and was only added as a test (that clearly failed) anyway. ;)

Well said, I am new to this site and I already see a lot of drama with this going on. I definitely came here to get some solid advice and some new ideas for my decks to make them more competitive. Sad to see a tool to help people being abused just because people like to see a large number next to their deck :(

i must say i think they should take away thumb downs and just have thumbs up so that if u dont like a deck just dont give it a rating but if u do like it u can give it a tumbs up... also they could go with a star rating system so that people could see the average rating i.e. 3 out of 5

i like dreki's idea. If that happens it will also make it possible for there to be different decks on the top list. What is happening now is that the decks on the list are getting very high and it will be impossible soon to knock any of them off the list and see new ones. If there is an average star setting, it will continuosly change.

Rather than multiple signups to vote decks down you'll have multiple signups to vote your own deck up, don't worry we started coding again today and we think we have a possible solution. Quite a few things to do first though!

I agree that people shouldn't be able to bash decks to get theirs on the list but I also think that by using a deck to run a forum it limits the space. The top list should be for real decks. So I agree with you but thumbs down and -1.

great point on the -1, but is it possible to block people or something to get rid of their stupid ass comments? I mean really, people like Dustin666 give MTG people a bad name. I'm minding my own business and trying to help the guy out and he becomes an ass and comments "gay, douche, fag" on all my decks. wtf man... I mean normally on anyother site I could probably report him. Any ideas? Mr. Gary?

I am against the deckbuilders having censorship powers because it allows them to get rid of negative comments but I can see there being a "report" option under a player's name that, once clicked, leads to a form for why you are reporting the person. Another note: Flipknight28, I checked what Dustin666 did to your decks and it was quite unreasonable but the way you handled it was very immature and inappropriate for a public site (keep in mind, there is quite a wide age range on this site) which is all the more reason for the admins to have censorship powers.

so far, here's what we got... for those who are doing the coding for the site please listen up!
1. Rating from 1-10
2. No Rating without Comment
3. Top Rated for Different Categories of Decks
4. Top Rated Decks should have Categories as well ( Week, Month, Of All Time, etc.)
5. (This one's from me....) Ability to delete unwanted comments or Block annoying users

Feel free to add so we can get the change going...

an di must admit i sometimes rate a -1 on peoples deck sometimes because it's really bad but i allways explain why
or when someone has a name or description like 'i own you all with this deck' and the deck sucks

i think giving thumbs down isn't a bad thing as long as you explain why

but if people abuse of it and just downrate for fun i think it's better it just is removed

Its not that i disagree with you its that there is something just like this already posted on here and because this is something that belongs on the Forum (In facts its already there) not as a deck taking up another one of the Top 15 Decks so now with this and the Please Read from Dark Knight and the Member database its only 12 Top Decks which gives people less of a chance to show off there decks and makes it even easier for people to Nuke decks off the Top Decks list......

well at leat yu got people lokking at your decks. i havent been able to get help on my freaking decks at all.(except gary did try). im new so i def. need the help of the more "skilled" players. they should be helping people with soso decks instead of downgrading everyones good decks.
